Timber framed deck, dock or access promenades constructed from wood or metal joist framing, traditionally surfaced with wood, composite, plastic or aluminum decking, but here using 24” or 30" O.C. spans on 2 1/2” minimum width framing² member overlaid with a structural Deck Plank secured to framing with stainless steel fastener and screw, surfaced with paver¹ grade concrete, stone or porcelain, dry-laid over the Deck Plank, no sand fill, and the completed assembly weighing <5 lbs/sf + paver weight.

Conditions

C2: Dry Lay No bond, removable surface material over structural underlayment. The surface material has sufficient internal strength within itself to be placed on the supporting structure without concern for cracking under normal use regardless of movement.

C6: Underlayment Surface material supported by full structural underlayment. The surface material will be placed over a structural panel that adds strength and load transfer from the surface material to the bearing members.

C12: Weak Bearing Rooftop has limited or low load conditions. Most old buildings before 1970 were not created for rooftop living conditions and therefor may require special structural considerations.
