An interlocked rooftop deck over living space constructed with traditional joist framing, sheeting or concrete and waterproofing (by other), with a shallow uniform slope in one direction to an edge drain, normally finished with heavy mud-set or thin-set but here overlaid with a structural Deck Plank, floating over the bearing surface supported by 1/2" tall support plates and micro adjustment (1/32", 1/16") without screws, fasteners or damage to waterproofing, surfaced with thin gauge stone or porcelain tile, glue-bonded¹ to the structural Deck Plank, and the completed assembly weighing <15 lbs/sf.

A13: Sloping Roof Terrace Shallow elevated platform over waterproofing A rooftop living space over a structurally supported waterproofing system with a simple uniform shallow slope in which the finished surface mirrors the slope and may require removability for easy access.

A17: On Grade Patio Backyard supported pavers over compacted soil A simple residential patio over unstable soil conditions on a compacted base or concrete slab in which the finished surface is raised to level above compound and changing slopes beneath with varied and adjustable supports.

S1: Thin Gauge Tile 1cm, 3/8”-1/2” uniformly gauged porcelain tile A 3/8”-1/2” porcelain tile material, standard to the flooring industry, and with a surface friction suitable to the use, of any dimension greater than 4” and of any shape or pattern, and that is uniform in thickness and dimension ±1/32”.

S2: Thin Gauge Stone 1cm, 3/8”-1/2” uniformly gauged natural stone tile A 3/8”-1/2” natural stone tile, standard to the flooring industry, and with a surface friction and type suitable to the use and climate conditions, of any dimension greater than 4” and of any shape or pattern, and that is uniform in thickness and dimension ±1/32”.

S3: Porcelain Paver 2cm, 3/4” porcelain paver A high span strength, 3/4” porcelain tile material, intended for all exterior applications, of any pattern, and that is uniform in thickness and dimension ±1/32”.

S4: Hard Stone Paver 1”-2 1/2” slab uniformly gauged dense natural stone; Granite, Bluestone, Brazilian Slate A dense, thick-cut natural stone, intended for on-grade use, with very good span strength and with a surface friction and type suitable to the use and climate conditions, of any dimension greater than 4” and of any shape or pattern, and that is uniform in thickness and dimension ±1/32”.

S5: Soft Stone Paver 1”-2 1/2” slab uniformly gauged weak natural stone; Limestone, Sandstone A soft material, thick-cut natural stone, intended for on-grade use, with weak span strength and with a surface friction and type suitable to the use and climate conditions, of any dimension greater than 4” and of any shape or pattern, and that is uniform in thickness and dimension ±1/32”.

S9: Rubber Mat 1/2” formed rubber sheet A rubber sheet material, 1/2”-3/4” thick, varied widths and lengths, non-interlocking, intended for exterior applications.

S10: Artificial Turf Full mat turf carpet A synthetic turf mat carpet with a thick base or bottom and openings for positive drainage.

Conditions

C1: Glue Down Glue bond surface material to structural underlayment. The back of a thin gauge porcelain tile or natural stone is buttered with adhesive to bond the material to the supporting structure ensuring surface strength and stability but no removability.

C4: Removable Surface material and finishes must be removable access. Conditions or elements beneath the finished surface require frequent or occasional attention making it necessary to remove some or all of the surface material for access.

C6: Underlayment Surface material supported by full structural underlayment. The surface material will be placed over a structural panel that adds strength and load transfer from the surface material to the bearing members.

C8: Seismic Earthquake zone requires secure lateral stability. A seismic zone may require better fixture of assemblies to ensure maximum stability and to reduce load transfers or increases resulting from seismic lateral motion.

C13: Low Clearance Rooftop has very low clearance ≤2”. An existing building, remodeled or retrofitted to access a waterproofed rooftop that has limited clearance between the waterproofing surface and the door threshold.
